DONATING TO RACERS WHO CARE, INC.Racers Who Care, Inc. is a California tax exempt, nonprofit, charitable corporation. It also has an IRS 501C3 classification. To date, and throughout the past 15 years, RWC has been operated approximately 95% by volunteers and racers who have donated their time, expertise, and RWC-related out of pocket expenses. As a result, though, through the years, we have been able to reach and positively touch the lives of a number of children and teens, we would be able to reach far more with your assistance! With more coordinators, working full time [some centralizing efforts in major American cities], more racers, and the funding to make far more telephone calls, copy and send out far more handouts, RWC would be able to expand its outreach and encourage, empower, and motivate many thousands more children and teens throughout the U.S., and possibly overseas, each year. Our spokesracers’ powerful ability to connect with children and teens, and their success in sharing crucial messages, has been acclaimed! Here are just a couple of the many enthusiastic and appreciative presentation follow up comments RWC has received – read more Feedback: “This was the most positive thing these kids have done in a long time! It was a blast! The boys were quite impressed with the fact that a number of racers stopped whatever they were doing and took time to visit with them. They asked a lot of questions about how to get involved in something they like. They came away with a greater understanding that education plays an important part in achieving success – math, physical education, sports, staying in shape, are all crucial keys. The fact that racers are living a dream accomplished, and that this possibility is actually a reality, made a lasting impact.” Hector Magdelano, Hillsboro Boys & Girls Club, Portland, Oregon “Fabulous! It made quite a lasting impression. In the playroom, several racers challenged each other and patients to Foosball. There was a lot of yelling encouragement. A great thing was the race car seat one of the racers brought. The kids loved sitting in it. They saw exactly how safe you need to be. The kids were very impressed that famous people, that they see on television, were there. ‘Gosh! They’re here to see me!’ The patients could see that though these were famous people, they were nice, and concerned. They will always remember, and relate to that, throughout their lives. Kids need to be bombarded with positive role models like this – who will spend time with them. The visit was very effective.” Pamela Aubuchon, Child Life Specialist, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri
“Tom Kendall was honest, open and genuine with our campers. We have a large portion of campers that are disadvantaged and Tom showed success and overcoming adversity . . .There are more ways to be a winner in life than coming in 1st.” Pete Szlozyk, of the Hidden Valley 4-H Camp in Watkins Glen, New York You all are AWESOME!!!!!!!!
